For Day #16 of my February challenge to end human trafficking, I reflected on many of the products and goods that I use every day that have likely been forged by the hands of modern-day slaves. By purchasing these products, I’m promoting the demand for slave labor. But which products are they? And how bad is the problem?
Above you can see the results of a quiz I took geared toward determining just that. It’s pretty bad, considering how many electronic gadgets I use. Particularly interesting is my impact map: most of the slavery concern seems to be located near China, where I’ve lived for two years.
Find out what products you’re using, and how you can cut down on the demand, by visiting SlaveryFootprint.org. It won’t take you long, and it can be your good deed for the day.
