The way you tell a story is as important as the story itself.

Day #11: It’s the 21st of the month.

One of my pet anti-trafficking organizations (as I’m sure you’ve noticed) is the A21 Campaign. They’ve set aside the 21st of every month for observing the centuries-old struggle to abolish slavery, even in its most clandestine forms.

So for Day #11 of my month devoted to reducing human trafficking, that’s what I’d like to do. Celebrate the 21st. Celebrate the goal of freedom for all mankind.

Observation of this day can include getting a coffee with a like-minded person who also supports this mission, or even throwing a full-blown dinner for other advocates. Or however you choose to do it.

From the web site:

Join us on the 21st of every month as we set aside a day to remember people who are currently in slavery … a reminder to take action and stand for justice around the world.

I’m still racking my brain trying to decide how I’d like to observe this “reminder,” but the day is not yet done. Do you have any suggestions?
