Day #6: Each piece of jewelry is a link to the survivor who made it.

For Day 6, I purchased a piece of jewelry from “Made By Survivors,” an international nonprofit organization that simultaneously employs and educates survivors of slavery, many of them women and children. The programs offer these women training in highly respected professions and wages that will enable them to escape poverty and independently support themselves. When you make a purchase, you can rest easy that 100% of profits go to support rescue and aftercare.
The bracelet I bought (which you can see at left) was just $16. And every penny will go toward helping the noblest cause I can conceive of. What better bargain exists than that?
